Recent years have seen a boom in the presence of high quality restaurants and eating establishments offering global cuisine across many locations in Hartlepool. This trend has been prompted by the development of the town's award-winning marina development and has now seen many more establishments open within the town centre and beyond.

Around the town you can sample the Mediterranean offerings from Al Syros, Marco Polo, Joe Rigatoni's and Raudins Restaurant - which specialises in French cuisine. The town is well served with tastes from the sub-continent with Asian dishes abundant in The Golden Gate and Café India for instance. The town's first seafood restaurant, Ocean, can be found at Seaton Carew and with views to the sea offers a breathtaking respite.

Navigation Point at Hartlepool Marina is where the majority of the restaurants are located and diners can literally travel around the world with their taste-buds invigorated and their feet firmly on the ground. Japanese and Chinese are specialities at Fujiyama's and Lotus Garden respectively, while the heady flavours from North Africa are among those on the menu at the popular Krimo's. If Tapas is your scene pop into Casa del Mar or if Italian takes your fancy then try Tabarinni's, for something a touch more spicy then Thai Harbour or Spices are well worth a visit.
